Course Description

Send us a message to get on the waitlist for the next session: classes@improv-la.com From page to stage, this final six-week class takes your comedy writing skills to the top level, diving into everything you need to know to produce and perform a live scripted show! This class will teach you experienced tricks-of-the-trade, saving you years of trial and error (and bombing), and show you how to bring your writing to life, making people laugh with every script, not just some. You’ll learn: - How to produce and perform a fully rehearsed live comedy show - Different types of performance sketches (such as Blackouts, Tentpoles, and more) - Techniques for creating videos to enhance your live show - Ins-and-out of live scripted comedy, complete with costumes, props, stage blocking, tech scripts, running order, and all the fun extras! - Option to write + perform, or just focus on writing if you prefer This course culminates in a live ONE HOUR sketch comedy show for family and friends, showcasing your original work. Whether you want to perform on stage or prefer to stay behind the scenes as a writer, this class gives you the tools and confidence to create an unforgettable show and use those skills going forward. Eligibility: Students must have fully completed Improv-LA Sketch 201 with teacher's approval and had no more than two absences Class Size: 12 students; everyone will get plenty of time and individual attention. Length: Sessions are 3 hours, and meet for 6 weeks in-Person. Parking: All of our classes come with free & easy parking for all students! Note: There will be required writing assignments/deadlines each week.

Courses are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law. • Transfers may be possible (not guaranteed) if requested by email at least 7 days before your course begins, depending on availability. A $35 fee applies. Transfers expire 30 days after being offered. One-Day classes are non-transferable. • One-time mistaken registrations may be refunded within 24 hours, minus a $30 fee. • Natural disasters, local emergencies, or others beyond our control do not qualify for refunds, but transfers will be offered when possible (fee waived). • Missing or being late to 3+ classes means you’ll be removed and not pass the course. Notes are available if you miss up to 2 classes with prior notice. (This applies to repeat student as well) • Instructors may change due to professional commitments. No refunds or transfers are available for instructor changes. • Participation is voluntary and involves inherent risks. You assume full responsibility for your participation, including physical or emotional injury. • We reserve the right to remove students for inappropriate or harmful conduct, with no refund, to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. • Harassment, boundary-crossing, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated and may result in permanent removal. • Photos or videos may be used in Improv-LA marketing unless you opt out by emailing classes@improv-la.com with your class info. • Coupon codes must be applied at checkout and cannot be added retroactively.
